The story of avatar unfolds on a world called Pandora that is home to the Na'vi people. The landscape of this world is spectacluar to see with city-sized rock formations hanging high above the ground held up by what appear to be vines .There are underwater plants which glow , seeds which pulsate through the air like jellyfish swimming in the ocean.

The story pits mankind against the peaceful,forest living Na’vi people. The land they inhabit sits on a mineral deposit that humans want for themsleves.To help humans gain access to the mineral the military recruits a young disabled soldier, Jake, to infiltrate the Na'vi people by linking his mind to one of their bodies, which have been genetically bred by the army.

So Jake is unconscious ,with his body at the army HQ and his mind is within the Na'vi body .He is able to move among the Na’vi, get to know them, and gain their trust. He is really just a very clever spy, but he falls in love with one of the Na'vi females and begins to wonder if he is fighting on the right side.
